The North Carolina Triad is a renowned region
for education, and the area is filled with
numerous public and private institutions of
higher learning. Schools like the University of
North Carolina at Greensboro, Wake Forest
University and the University of North Carolina
School of the Arts are large schools in the area
and offer plenty to the region’s culture and
overall economy. Distinguished nationally, the
area is also home to several research centers,
including the world renowned Baptist Hospital at
Wake Forest University Medical School. Learn

Wake Forest University
Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem
North Carolina is one of the most prestigious
private universities in the nation and it is the
home of the Wake Forest University Baptist
Medical Center, a renowned medical research
facility that provides services in the area. The
university’s renowned undergraduate, graduate
and professional schools are housed on the Reynolda Campus, located just north of downtown
Winston Salem, and it also maintains the lab
space at Bowman Gray Technical Center in
Piedmont Research Park, and at the Center for
Nanotechnology and Molecular Materials. In
addition to the 34 majors and minors offered in
various fields of study, Wake Forest University
has a highly noted business school, the Wayne
Calloway School of Business and Accountancy, and
offers a five year accountancy program whereby a
student will graduate with an MS in Accountancy
and can sit for the CPA exam after the years of
combined study. Wake Forest’s well recognized
Graduate School of Arts and Sciences also offers
masters and doctorate degrees in 27 programs and
is home other prestigious schools including the
Wake Forest School of Law, the Wake Forest
School of Medicine, Wake Forest Divinity School
and the Babcock Graduate School of Management.

High Point University
 High
Point University is a very small and selective
private liberal arts school located in High
Point. Affiliated with the United Methodist
Church, High Point University offers day and
evening undergraduate degree programs and
evening graduate degree programs in a variety of
majors including masters programs in elementary
education, educational leadership, public
administration and nonprofit organization,
business administration and sports studies. One
on one instruction is easily given at this small
school located close to our

North Carolina A&T University
North Carolina A&T University was founded in
1891 and is a historically African American college. One of
the first schools of its kind in the south,
North Carolina A&T was founded to provide a
technical education to the freed slaves in the
region. Today, the school is one of the nation’s
leading producers of African American engineers
in addition to offering more than 99 other
undergraduate majors, 50 masters degrees and
doctoral degrees in several different studies.

The University of North Carolina School of
the Arts
The University of North Carolina School of
the Arts was formally known as the North
Carolina School of the Arts and is a very
prestigious coed arts conservatory located in
Winston-Salem North Carolina. Granting high
school, undergraduate and graduate degrees, it
is now one of seventeen other schools that are a
part of the University of North Carolina system.
Founded in 1963 by then North Carolina governor
Terry Sanford, the school is the first public
arts school of its kind and has been highly
renowned among young and rising artists,
musicians and filmmakers. The school has five
professional programs in dance, design and
production, drama, filmmaking, and music and
awards high school diplomas, bachelors degrees,
professional artist certificates and masters
degrees. The school and its campus are located

The University of North Carolina at
Greensboro
The University of North Carolina at
Greensboro, commonly referred to as UNCG, is a
public university in Greensboro that awards
undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level
degrees in a variety of programs housed in the
university’s 8 different schools and
departments. Many students live on campus,
however there are also large numbers of students
who live off campus in the surrounding North
Carolina Triad region. UNCG is very convenient

Winston-Salem State University
 Winston-Salem
State University is a four year public coed
school located in Winston Salem NC. Founded by
Dr. Simon Green Atkins in 1892, it is a
historically African American university, and it was the
first African American educational institution
to award degrees in elementary education. In
1969 the school changed its name to Winston
Salem State University and became a part of the
University of North Carolina System in 1972. A
member of the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship
Fund, Winston-Salem State University is widely
recognized in the African American community for
its efforts and endeavors to educate young
African Americans in the health sciences. The
school’s 117 acre main campus is located nearby
to our Greensboro NC Apartments.
Bennett College
Bennett College for women is a four year,
prestigious African American liberal arts
women’s college located in the
City of
Greensboro North Carolina. The school was
founded in 1873 and was created to provide an
education to the newly emancipated slaves of the
south. The school began as a coed school and in
1926 it became solely a women’s college. Today,
Bennett College for Women currently enrolls
approximately 700 undergraduates in 24 different
degree programs, and it currently ranks #16 among
the nation’s top historically African American colleges and
universities. The school’s "brother" all male
school is Morehouse College located in Atlanta
GA. Bennett College is very convenient to our

Greensboro College
Greensboro College is a four year, coed,
private college affiliated with the United
Methodist Church. Founded in 1838, the school is
renowned for its small class sizes and currently
has an average class size of about 11 to 1. The
college enrolls over 1,200 students from various
states and places from across the world, and
also is home to Greensboro College Middle
College; a high school program on its campus,
the school enrolls 11th and 12th graders that
were previously unsatisfied with the traditional
public high school. As of the 2007-2008 school
year, this program enrolled 122 students.

Guilford College
Guilford College is a small private liberal
arts college located in the
City of Greensboro
North Carolina. Founded in 1837 by the Religious
Society of Friends, the Quakers, Guilford
College is the third oldest coeducational
institution founded in the country and the
oldest institution of its kind in the south.
Elon University School of Law
The Elon University School of Law was
founded in 2006 and is located away from the
school’s other campuses in the
City of
Greensboro North Carolina. Occupying the former
downtown public library building, the school is
one of four graduate schools offered at Elon
University. Students are awarded law degrees in
a variety of concentrations including business,
litigation, public interest, and general
practice. Our
